Leipzig's over and the Tokyo Game Show won't be till October. But that doesn't mean there won't be any other conferences around to satisfy ever-curious gamers' appetites. And this time, we won't even have to fly overseas. The Austin Game Developers Conferences is coming up next, and they've added in a nice touch to this year's event.

Yeah, it sucks when you see something you like on the PlayStation Network but you don't have a credit card to top up your online wallet. Don't worry too much, though. GameStop may not be getting its share of PSN cards until next year, but PS3 owners will be able to get the cards from three more retail outlets starting next month. More in the full article.

Last month, Sony announced that they've sold about 10 million PSP units to Japanese retail. That figure, however, doesn't account for actual sales from the consumer. Today, we find out that that number has been breached. The PSP in its entire lifetime in Japan has indeed sold over 10 million units - and hey!, ever wondered the all-time best selling titles are in Japan? Hit the jump for lots of big numbers!

After the Federal Trade Commission gave its blessing to continue merger negotiations, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive have finally begun its closed door meeting regarding the deal. However, it seems that both parties will be rather tight-lipped regarding the details of the meeting. Ryan Payton has just revealed that he's leaving Kojima Productions. After working on MGS Portable Ops and Metal Gear Solid 4, this guy has clearly made a lasting footprint in the history of video game development. Leaving is always a heartbreaking thing, and though he would have been a shoe-in for development on the so-called MGS5 (which he seems to have already confirmed, to a degree), Payton will be taking it easy for now. Looks like Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima might be back for the next game in the series after all. It's not a solid "I'll be back" line, but his remarks in a recent interview are promising. Details in the full article.

This year's Games Convention at Leipzig was a sure fire success. And though some of you might not think that the same could be said about E3, GC 2009 has already been scheduled. Via press release, we find out that this year's event has set records above and beyond what GC 2007 had, and reception from the masses has definitely shown a good sign that the video games industry is booming more than it used to.
